Non-working residence visa

Spain’s official consular guidance describes this route as residence without gainful work, for applicants who can show sufficient guaranteed means. It is not a work permit. Documentation and submission procedures depend on the responsible Spanish consular district.

International telework / digital nomad

People who intend to continue working remotely should not assume the non-working route is appropriate. The legal route, employment structure, income evidence and tax consequences should be reviewed together.

EU citizen residence

EU citizens generally use free-movement residence rules rather than a Spanish national visa, with registration, sufficient resources and comprehensive health coverage potentially relevant after three months.
